A health and safety data approach to reopening

In 2020, British Columbia executed one of Canada’s most successful provincial COVID-19 control programs. Despite the provincial government’s success mitigating the virus, our hospitality & tourism sector is in need of support with over 300,0001 workers facing an uncertain future.

In response, Loop Insights is building a coalition with leading local businesses to support government agencies on the path to Reopen Vancouver.

Our mission: to deliver a data-driven, evidence-based path to safely reopen Vancouver’s tourism and hospitality sectors.

What's needed to reopen safely?

While official guidelines have helped to keep BC residents safe, economic recovery is only possible when more of BC’s tourism & hospitality businesses can safely reopen and stay open.

In support of government initiatives to bolster the local economy, Loop is offering a means of integrating data to provide businesses with real-time information. This central platform enables venue tracing services with automatic alert notifications that drastically streamline venue management requirements.

As a Vancouver-based technology company, Loop Insights has created a digital toolkit to help businesses more effectively and practically implement regulatory guidelines.

Loop’s solution centers on its Digital Travel Wallet Pass technology, which securely connects users’ health, testing, and vaccination data with government infrastructure (apps, travel documentation, etc.) to create one seamless user experience. All this is done using the digital wallet on a user’s mobile device, which requires no additional hardware or software from the end-user.

Real-World Results

In November 2020, Loop insights demonstrated its end-to-end exposure risk mitigation solution by creating digitally managed safe zones – “Venue Bubbles” – during 2 NCAA basketball tournaments in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Ft. Myers, Florida.

Deployed across practice facilities, convention centers, arenas (T-Mobile Arena, Hertz Arena), and partnering hotels (MGM Grand), Loop’s fully-managed Venue Bubble solution provided daily COVID-19 testing including PCR tests for event staff, officials, and participating college basketball teams from 14 states.

The result: over 3,000 unique check-ins with zero cases of COVID transmission during or after the events.
